You shouldn't have any trouble with the FS3X. I have one myself and it works fine.
With regards to the MIDI expression pedal, I don't know that particular product, but generally speaking, I can't think of any reason why it wouldn't work. Hopefully, someone who has that product will chime in to describe their experience using it.
