@peterpriddle As an owner of an actual H3000, H9000, and an H90, I’ve seen hardware “Upgrades” at the H3000 level that really didn’t do much, for at that time added some MIDI fixes and the like, but still the H3000 has NO REMOTE BYPASS PROVISIONING except through MIDI. So familiarity with Eventide products isn’t something new for us here. Your assumption of buying the GEN 2 Update NOW makes as much sense as running right out and buying Z speed rated Pirelli racing tires for your 2000 Honda Civic, and expecting it to go faster, and corner better, when it is the same car you were driving on Goodyear Tires!
