Please bring the long overdue support for MICROTONAL TUNINGS and SCALES.
It’s hard to believe, but there are actually no hardware pitch processors that can do this. Eventide could (and should) be the first!
With the recent explosion of artists bringing the microtonal music to mainstream (Angine de Pointrine, King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard, Aphex Twin…) there’s a need for proper hardware tools and so far there are none.
Software manufacturers have caught up long time ago!
Melodyne, Logic, Ableton, Native Instruments, Arturia, U-he, Serum, Antares, Vienna and dozens of others, all feature either a built-in microtonal editor, the ability to import .scl (Scala) tuning files, or are compatible with the brilliant tuning system MTS-ESP by OddSound, co-developed with Aphex Twin.
For instance, Melodyne can not only import .scl files, it also comes pre-loaded with 164 tunings and scales. Greek, Turkish, Arabian, Indian, Indonesian, Chinese, Japanese, ‘experimental’. Logic, NI and Vienna have built-in microtonal editors etc
There’s much more to explore than the Western 12-tone equal temperament tuning.
