Any algo can function woth the expression pedal as a volume…. and the Wah algos are certainly useable. So I would say YES.

and this might be relevant.. if you wanna take it next level:

Hi. I currently have volume pedal and wah with my H9. I’m now planning on getting an expression pedal but there’s just not enough space for the three (vol, wah, exp). Is there an algorithm that can make my vol and wah dispensable?

If there’s none, I hope H9 can start developing these algorithms.

You could check out the QWah and ModFilter algorithms as possible replacements for your Wah pedal.

To replace your volume pedal, please note that for any preset you can assign the expression pedal to control the input or output volume of the H9.  In H9 Control that feature is under the More menu as shown in this screenshot:

Thank you for the advice. Which one should I assign to my EXP pedal if I want it as volume pedal? Input or output?

Likely the output gain…  Assigning the expression pedal to the input gain can be interesting if you want to cut the signal going into your H9 for example but want the delay or reverb trails to continue, but that's a pretty niche use case…  People more commonly want to control the volume of the entire mixed signal.  That's what a volume pedal does in any case…
