For some reason I cannot get my H90 to Bypass/Activate via MIDI command. I’ve done all that’s required in the system, given it a CC#, etc, but it picks and chooses which programs it wants to Activate or Bypass. Can anyone see what must be the obvious thing I’m missing? Thanks.

Which act/byp command have you mapped to a CC#? If you map a CC# to P act/byp, sending a value greater than 64 will toggle the active state. Sending a value less than 64 will have no effect. If, however, you map a CC# to P act/byp (M), sending a value greater than 64 will activate, while a value less than 64 will bypass.

Hi…I’ve tried that and it has no effect. I’ve given P Act/Byp (M) a CC#, tried 64 and 65 and the bypassed program will not activate. I’ve programmed my 2 H9’s and they perform flawlessly…the 90…well I just don’t get it.

Try sending value zero for bypass and 127 for active on P act/byp (m)

It receives PC’s with no problem at all, but this CC# business it doesn’t seem to want to know. I’m using a BOSS ES8, not that I can imagine the fault is there.

So that I have a reference of what you’re sending, please detail the list of commands you’re sending the H90 from the Boss switcher to try to get it to bypass a program.

I’ve now just performed a factory reset and it still does not work!

I requested a list of commands. Never suggested a factory reset, but now that the pedal is basically reset, try this:
In the system settings > MIDI > MIDI – Global control, assign a CC# to P act/byp (M).
From your Boss switcher, you should be sending that CC# along with a value of zero for bypass or 127 to activate. Make sure you’re sending on the same MIDI channel as the H90, the default is 1.

Perhaps this video clarifies things for you: https://youtu.be/tfd3wQHzxcA?t=1026

It appears that you have to have PC at “OFF”, CC# and 63 to bypass, but as soon as you add a preset number it activates regardless of the CC# and value, and I’ve just discovered that by total fluke. Not clear instructions at all.

Now that you’ve clarified you’re sending a PC message along with a CC# there is a known issue we are looking to resolve regarding these simultaneous messages. I’m certain it’s a the root of the issue. One option is to recall the program in an already bypassed state if it must start off bypassed.
