Can the same MIDI message toggle a H9 preset’s bypass state as well as load it?

Here’s the scenario I’m hoping I can set up:

 

In my MIDI controller, let’s say footswitch #2 loads preset 15. I’d like to be able to click footswitch #2 to load and activate preset 15, then hit the same footswitch #2 to then set the H9 to bypass. While preset is active in memory, and attempt to load it would toggle its active state. (essentially treating my footswitch like a stompbox)

Anything is possible, but this may be not a good idea.

It would obviously be convenient, but I think there is a risk of getting out of step, meaning that the pedal will not do what you expect. Meaning, you hit a switch expecting the effect to sound, but instead it goes off – you may not immediately notice the problem.

Probably better if a command does the same thing every time.
