Do you think eventide will ever standardise their products? For example…

        1. power supply to be centre negative like all pedals in the world

        2. the power point barrel to be 2.1mm like all pedals in the world?

        3. the footswitch to be compatible with all  standard footswitch topper products in the world (like Mooer erc)

        4. the iPad software to be compatible with touch screen issues (the copy paste function can delete a patch that you spent an hour creating just because you accidentally clicked paste instead of copy 🙂

          Hello,

          Thanks for your post.

There is no “standard”. Many devices for making music (guitar pedals, synthesizers, samplers, etc) use all different kinds of power supplies. Eventide products are not the only stompboxes that use center positive power supples. Almost every power supply that can power multiple stompboxes has solutions for the different sizes and polarities that are offered among the different brands and styles of guitar effects.

Similarly, there is no standard for footswitch size. That is why Barefoot Buttons, for example, offers different sizes. You can use the Big Bore with the H90: https://barefootbuttons.com/sizing/

The H90 Control software can be change/updated, we are working on improvements for Program management and I believe that should resolve the issue you mentioned about accidentally deleting patches.

            Welllllll …

Maybe he worded it incorrectly.  Can we agree that your power adapter size and polarity are in the minority among all guitar effects. But I understand that. I just figured it had something to do with the current draw.

But, the H9 pedal switch size? Very few use that size and there’s seemingly no excuse. Let’s be honest here. And you mention “Barefoot Buttons,” which is the ONLY manufacturer of extremely high-priced toppers for your products I can find. For every single other pedal type I own (over 100 now), I bought packs of 20 toppers for $8. For Eventide products, of which I have five pedals (3 H9s) for a total of 6 buttons, I had to spend $60! ($10 apiece). Also, of note, I measured the pedal size at closer to a little under 9mm and I use the V2 toppers, not the big bores. Not sure if the big bores work, but I can confirm V2s fit fine.

I love you as a company but just admit you’re unique in many ways. Nothing wrong with admitting that.

I just saw that your Big Bore comment was for H90. Sorry, I thought you were talking about H9. I misread. Yeah, Big Bore for H90 and V2 for H9.

I just found this handy-dandy list that shows which size versions fit which pedals. This is very helpful

              Not many use V2, btw.
