Hi. I purchased a factory re-pack and am experiencing something strange. The unit pairs via Bluetooth to my iPhone 7 without a hitch and shows up as the default model number name but, when I tried to pair it with a 2011 MacMini and a 2016 MacBookPro, the Bluetooth window shows intermittant names for the unit: the Number Name and what i think is the previous user’s Custom Name, “James’s 7th Fire”. I did a factory reset on the Core unit and was surprised to see that the custom name continued to show up, sometimes alongside the Number name in the Bluetooth preferences. Also, sometimes the Options button didn’t appear after the initial, required failure to pair.

My H9 Max is able to pair by Bluetooth. The Core did pair once but was dropped before the Control app recognized it. Using USB, I was able to connect both to H9 Control on OSX but I am wondering what other steps I might take to troubleshoot and fix the problem?

Macs can hold onto the old Bluetooth device names in a cache, and it sounds like that's what is happening.  Could you try the tips in this article to see if they help clear out that old device name and help with your connectivity problems?
