Just got the H9 Gen 2. This is my first Eventide product but I am familiar with other digital guitar pedals (HX Stomp, Walrus Mako Series, Morningstar MC6) and software in general. I am trying to run an update and connect my computer and phone with the H9 unit to edit algorithms. I have registered the device and downloaded the software but when I get to the Eventide Control launch page with the icons of your different pedals I come across a problem. The “add device” option opens up a drop down to select a port but it says “no choice” despite the fact that I am plugged into the device using the USB-C cable provided. It seems like there is something off here with the software–they just aren’t connecting. I have reset my computer and the H9 unit. Any tips?

          Hello,

Sorry to hear you are having issues. Are you using Mac or Windows?

Are you using a USB hub or is the USB C connection going directly to your computer?

I am using Windows and tried with 1) the USB C cable that came with the H9, 2) USB to USB C, and 3) USB to USB C on another computer (with Norton uninstalled).

I’m having the same issue, I can’t connect via BT or USB-C but i’m on MACOS 15 SIERRA. Pretty frustrating as I havent been able to really use this $600 brick right now.

                    Hello,

To clarify, Bluetooth is not yet available for this product. It will be available in a future update.

For your USB connection issue, your operating system is quite old and not supported by most modern apps. Eventide Control is officially support for macOS 10.14+ and we have not tested it with Sierra.

What exactly is happening when you try to connect to the pedal? Are you able to “add device” in the Eventide Control app?

Are you able to try a different computer with a more recent OS version?

I do not have another Mac at my disposal. I haven’t had any trouble connecting my original (white) H9 Harmonizer to my Mac by either bluetooth or usb-c.

As far as attempts to connect the H9 gen2 to my Mac; I’ve connected it via usb-c and powered on and H9 Connect simply won’t recognize it, I’ve also powered the H9 gen2 on and then connected it to the Mac, and it just doesn’t recognize it.

Although i’m running Sierra OS, I havent had any issues connecting my MIDI keyboard, synthesizers, external hard drive, hardware audio interface’s, or numerous other usb devices.

If I can’t get my Mac to recognize the H9 gen2 by any method, how would I ever be able to get the future update to enable the Bluetooth?!

Had I known bluetooth wasn’t immediately available, or wasn’t compatible with Sierra, I would’ve never purchased it!

I created a support ticket, and haven’t heard anything from them.

Unless you guys have a work around, I’m definitely thinking I need to return this thing

did you manage to get this sorted? I’m having the same issue, unable to connect either with my MacBook Pro, or an M1 iPad Pro.

Update: I got it to work. I had downloaded the wrong app (H9 Control). The correct app is Eventide Control.
