H9 gen2 pre/post

I am trying to make pre/post setup with input 2 and output 2 is connected to the amp effects loop and input 1 and output 1 to amp input.

So I need output 2 and input 2 to be line and input 1 and output 1 to be instrument. It seems that it only is possible to set input 1/2 to line or instrument and output 1/2 to line or instr.

So you set both inputs at the same time and both outputs at the same time it will not be possible to have instr. in front of amp and line for the loop.

Maybe I am doing this wrong?

Hi there,

You aren’t doing anything wrong. The output pair cannot be adjusted individually.

If you are connecting the guitar directly to the H9 for the Pre path, then you should be ok to leave your inputs at instrument level since the pedal has a lot of headroom and should be able to handle your amp’s effect loop signal.

Have you tried this and are you having issues with these settings?

Thanks. That was what was I was doing with my H9 Max.

I saw that the gen 2 could run both line and instr. and thought that I could set that up in pre/post.

I will try the instr. setting.
