Hi Eventide-Staff,
I just bought second H9 MAX last week, just to find out that you’re now releasing a Gen2 🙂
I’m super exited for it!!! One reason for owning two H9s is that so I can switch between two sounds without the preset-loading lag/delay. So I have a few questions about the H9 Gen2:– Will there be seamless Preset/Program switching without a lag/delay? (I don’t mean “trails-spillover”)
– I use a lot of the Distortion Algorithms: So can Gen2 switch from Crushstation to Sculpt instantly?
– How will the switch between PGM UP/DOWN-Mode of the right Footswitch be handled? Long-Press?
– Will the right Footswitch be programmable which a specific function? Hotswitch, Tuner, etc?
– Will the Gen2 have more than one Hotswitch Setting per Algorithm, like the H90. Loadable via Midi? That’s all I can think of for now. Thank you for making such awesome products.
Kind regards -

Hello Genemesiz,
We appreciate your excitement of the H9 Harmonizer Gen 2 preorder announcement. We’re happy to give some basic answers to your questions but want to leave the deeper discussion for the actual release on June 24th.
Will there be seamless Preset/Program switching without a lag/delay? (I don’t mean “trails-spillover”) – I use a lot of the Distortion Algorithms: So can Gen2 switch from Crushstation to Sculpt instantly?
This is a significantly faster processor than the H9 Max. We’ve tried and found the H9 Harmonizer Gen 2 to be much faster than the H9 Max.
How will the switch between PGM UP/DOWN-Mode of the right Footswitch be handled? Long-Press?
You are correct, long pressing the right footswitch in SELECT mode will change the direction of the preset search as will the LED button above the footswtich.
Will the right Footswitch be programmable which a specific function? Hotswitch, Tuner, etc?
Yes, one of H9 Harmonizer Gen 2’s most powerful features. Left and right footswitch!
Will the Gen2 have more than one Hotswitch Setting per Algorithm, like the H90. Loadable via Midi?
Another H9 Harmonizer Gen 2 upgrade!
That’s all I can think of for now. Thank you for making such awesome products. Kind regards
We’re looking forward to showing the world everything on June 24th.

Thanks joecozzi for the infos. I´m very exited for it.
I understand that you can’t reveal all the details before the big release, but what would tip me over the edge to pre-ordering it are these additional questions:
– Sure there is small Delay. But is it half, a quarter, or a tenth of the h9?
– Can the H9 Gen2 keep the current sound until the new algo is loaded? What makes using Distortions on the H9 so difficult is not only the delay while loading, but that there is the significant drop-out to the pure dry sound while loading.
– How many MIDI loadable HotSwitch Settings will the H9 Gen2 have? This would improve the workflow, especially for my use-case with having multiple Distortions sounds and load them instantly.Thank you very much

I think H9 users looking to upgrade will be thrilled. Only way to know for sure is to try it out in your own rig. In PERFORM mode, you will have access to two Hotswitches, one per Switch. Questions on deeper MIDI functionality will be answered upon release.

Will the screen be visible in outdoor daylight? At my first daytime outdoor gig with my H90 I was unpleasantly surprised that the screen became invisible even with shade. Will the 2nd gen H9 have a more outdoor daytime friendly screen?

There’s a new display on the H9 Harmonizer Gen 2 altogether. I definitely feel it’s an upgrade for daytime visibility over the H90, will run tests when it’s ready.

Will there be a global volume control like the original H9?
-

There won’t be a global volume control, but rather each preset now has its own input and output parameters for better fine tuning. In addition, the H9 Harmonizer Gen 2, like the H90, will now allow for separate instrument or line level operation options for inputs and outputs.

Hello!
Will the H9 Gen 2 be similar to the H90 in terms of Relay and DSP bypass? I assume no analog dry-through features?
Thanks

Hi Joe, very excited about the H9 Gen 2. I’m curious, how is the software dev going? Is there a functioning H9 Gen 2 Control app already? Any easy compatibility with saved preset banks from the H9 Gen 1 Control app?

Software dev is ongoing. Control app will be available with the ability to import Gen 1 presets & lists.

Hi Joe, thanks for your help, will you please share input and output impedance values?

Details forthcoming, but H9 Harmonizer Gen 2 will allow dedicated line level and instrument level operating modes.

Will the Gen 2 work with the Barn3 OX9? Will the screw holes be the same?
-
June 8, 2026 at 9:03 am #195695
It will not work with the OX9 as holes do not line up and neither do the cable and inputs. We recommend using the new OXU Mini with mounting plate.
