      hi
My h9 (5.9.1[0]) has been stuck with a Preset Range of 1-25, even though it says 1-99 in the UTILS menu
So I tried a Factory reset (powering on which holding down the right footswitch and Big dial button) – stays the same 🙁
In H9 control, it says it has a Preset Range of 1-99. But it stays 1-25
If I put the lower limit at, say, 26, the only preset available is #1. This suggests something is wrong
I tried installing 5.9.1[0] firmware again and – stays the same
I tried installing 5.4.1[7] firmware again and – stays the same
      Thanks!
      :L

Which version of the H9 do you have? When you turn the unit on, what does it say on the display? H9 Max, H9 Core…H9?

H9 Core units only come with 25 presets from factory. Do you own an H9 Max that is registered to your Eventide account already?

      hi Joe
Thanks for all your help with this
The pedal was always a MAX-type H9 with all the algos and a full preset range
I think I know what has happened here, and it might be connected to some voltage damage at a gig in CDMX 6 years ago
So I’ve just sent an email to Support, mentioning this support ticket…
      All best

What this looks like to me is an H9 Core that is being used on an account with an H9 Max. In this case, it needs to have the algorithms synced with server. Try going on H9 Control, go to the Settings tab, click on “Sync Algorithms on H9 with Server.” Then, conduct another factory reset. See if that solves the problem.

This unit is registered to an account with an H9 Max. Please follow the instructions in my previous post. That should solve the problem. Let us know either way.

      hi Joe
I did what you suggested and…

      Restore failed
The given user name / password combination could not be found

If you have a preset list from another Max unit, download it to this unit. This Core will only have the 25 presets from factory, so you’ll have to introduce it to the other 74. You can do this via H9 Control.

      hey Joe
Sorted the account (wrong password – doh!)
Restored the purchases (good) and did a full reset (Big Dial & right switch)
      Still 25 preset range 🙁

You have two options now, you can create a preset list with more than 25 presets (up to 99) or download a preset list from another H9 on the account. If you want, you can download this factory H9 Max preset list. This will overwrite what’s currently in the pedal.

      yes!
      You fixed it good 🙂
Many thanks, it is now all working again
Regardless of the pilot errors (the account problem whgich lead to the “Restore failed” dialogue)
      All I had to do was to force-load a 99-preset list onto the 25-preset h9 (from within h9 control)…
Lesson learned, thanks everyone there, top support (as ever)
Apologies – as we exit covid, residual technological cobwebs etc.
      :-))))
