I am playing an electric cello with single string pickups panned alternately LRLRL. Since you can only play one or two adjacent strings at a time on a cello, stereo effects would improve the quality of effects that perform best with one input note (pitch shifting, distortion, ring modulation). However, the rest of my signal chain is mono. Can the H9 separately effect two inputs and then merge them to mono at the output? If not then I’ll have to pay more for a small mixer.

      Thanks

Yes. If you have two inputs and one output, it will create a mono signal. The details will vary from effect to effect, but the principle applies.
