I just bought a brand new h90. I downloaded the control software for Mac and it allowed me to update the firmware on the h90 but when I click connect to the device on the first screen it just crashes and an error pops (h90 quit unexpectedly) I tried it with both usb and Bluetooth. I’ve rebooted my computer and the h90, removed and added it back to devices, uninstalled and reinstalled the software, and tried multiple usb cables. Also there are no other applications running. Any input?

Can you tell what me version of the firmware you have installed on the pedal?
What version of the H90 Control app are you using?

Everyone please download the latest version of H90 Control v1.8.6. The firmware you’ve installed on the pedal is the latest Beta build as described here: https://www.eventideaudio.com/forums/topic/public-beta-announcement-h90-1-9-4-h90-control-1-8-6/
This will not work with app version 1.7.11

Thank you so much I didn’t realize they hadn’t released a version for this, that’s my bad if it was in fine print, thank you for being so amazing and quick with answers!!! Really appreciate it!
Also side note, how much better is the 9000 do you think it would be worth getting something like this for a guitarist looking for the ultimate effects unit to run in the loop and the front of the amp? How much better are the effects compared to the h90?
Thank you so much for your time!!!

The H9000 is the pinnacle of our technology, not only in specification but because it’s a library of over 50 years of effects design. To put it in context, the H90 features 66 performance ready algorithms. The H9000 has over 1600+ including the H90 stuff and effects you’ve never even dreamed of, effects that might not make sense in a guitar rig but I guarantee you’ve heard in your favorite movies. Plus, it even lets you design your own using our VSIG software. The H90 offers two algorithms whereas the H9000 gives you 4 effects chains of 4 algorithms, so in essence using two effects chains you can have four algorithms in front of your amp and four algorithms in the loop and then still have effects chains available for two other members of your band, like a vocalist, keyboard player, etc. The H9000 is a deep processor, probably too deep for a guitarist just looking for guitar effects; it’s the world’s most powerful general purpose effects box.

the thing I am looking for is the absolute best analog to digital conversion when running effects in the loops of these very high end amps, would you say anything touches this unit in that regard?

No.

in 90% of the units I have tried it’s very taking on the core tone of the amp. And I want to find something that really sounds great and doesn’t destroy to the original core tone of the amp

Problem still occurs here on Mac even with the 1.8.6 beta. I’m on Mac Studio running Sequoia 15.0 (24A335). I updated the firmware just about 1 week ago, and the H90 is humming along fine. Just the H90 Control is crashing on both Mac and iPad.
Looks like Juce thread crashed..
I’m attaching a crash log.

I bought a brand new H90 yesterday. I immediately registered as a user and installed H90 Control (app version 1.7.11), but when I launch the application and connect to the H90, the application crashes. I was relieved to see that other users have already reported similar problems. I have the same problem on macos sonoma (14.6.1), ipadOS (17.7) and windows 10 all.
I am relieved to see other users having the same problem and hope Eventide staff will be able to help. From Japan

The problem was solved by installing macOS 1.8.6 beta. Thanks! This is the beta version, will there be an official version released at some point? I am hoping that a revamped version of ipadOS will be released.

Try deleting and reinstalling the apps also if you have iOS 18 they have a beta control for the iPad you have to sign up for.
mine is now working great but you have to forget the devices and then reinstall the apps on both devices first forget on the Bluetooth settings and the pedal and then delete apps and redo everything should fix it

Thank you.
I am now in the process of contacting domestic agencies.
It looks like a reinstallation might be worth a try. -

I could try reinstalling it, but I literally just installed it. Do you think a reinstallation would change anything? installer is still in the trash.. Also, on this Mac, I had never installed the H90 Control app. Until now, I had been using it on my iPad.

Oh also, a new and vitally important detail. It seems only to crash when connecting via Bluetooth. I forgot to try a USB cable. Connecting a USB cable works great. No crashes, fast syncing all with H90 Control beta 1.8.6.

The crashlog you shared earlier is showing that you are using H90 Control 1.7.11.
Can you please confirm that you have downloaded/installed the 1.8.6 beta release? It will show the version number in the bottom left corner.
If you are still having crashing issues, please send a new crashlog to support@eventideaudio.com

Yes, I included the first crash log, but not the second.
I just tried again, deleting all devices and reactivating BT on H90 and trying again with 1.8.6 and it worked!
I wonder if connecting first via USB helped or maybe I was indeed still on 1.7.11.
I cannot reproduce here. Thank you for help and patience.

Please see the instructions for the public beta firmware here: https://www.eventideaudio.com/forums/topic/public-beta-announcement-h90-1-9-4-h90-control-1-8-6/?view=all
If you installed the public beta software v1.9.4 on your pedal, you must also install the public beta version of H90 Control v1.8.6.
