Hello everyone,
First couple of days digging into the H90 and I’m attempting to do two things on my current program. First, I’d like to map the pitch on an octaver to raise an octave when I hit the external footswitch (in exp 1). Something strange keeps happening when I choose the amount on the pedal though – no matter what pitch I set the external switch to change the pitch to, it will always go to another pitch. And it isn’t just one off every time – sometimes it’s a few semitones, sometimes it’s 1… and the full range of the parameter will be right on. I am using a TRS cable and have tried with two different foot switch devices to confirm the issue is not with the footswitch.
Secondly, I’m trying to use my expression pedal (in exp 2) to control the speed of the loop to sweep to a fourth up (around 100-136). However, I don’t seem to be able to select expression 2 to control that parameter – only expression 1 shows up.
I have tried calibrating but it doesn’t seem to fix either issue – it also just says “off” after I complete it. Is there something I’m doing wrong here? Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks so much!

I’m having a similar experience. Let me discuss with developers and get back to you. For the time being, the way around this is mapping your aux switch to one of the three available HotSwitches. Program that HotSwitch to go between the values you need. That works for me. Directly mapping the aux to the parameter causes the issue you’ve raised.

When you map the expression pedal to the Play Speed parameter on the Parameter Mapping page, can you turn quick knob #3 to show you Pedal #2? It does seem to take one whole turn of the knob to register.

Hey Joe! Thanks for the quick reply.
You’re right, I just needed to turn soft knob three a bit further than I was expecting. Working great now!
I’ll try the hot switch work around. Appreciate it!

One more question – is there a way to map the functions of the looper algo to external foot switches? Because of where my H90 is located, this would be much more convenient for me – however, I can’t figure out a way to do it as those functions don’t show up as parameters. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Joe!

Yes. Looper functions can be mapped from Perform mode. Once you press the PERFORM knob on a Program that incorporates the Looper algorithm, press & hold the LED Button (A or B) that corresponds to the position of the Looper. Immediately, you will enter the Performance Parameter Mapping menu where you’ll be able to find the looper functions with quick knob 1 and make assignments to any external aux switches(s) with quick knob 2.
Something to note: if you have the latest firmware, Eventide has added a dedicated looper control page in Perform mode. Consecutive presses of the PERFORM knob will get you to the third page of control already mapped to RECORD, PLAY, and STOP. You can map any additional looper controls on any of the other Peform pages or aux switch as outlined above.

All of that works, thanks Joe!
Last question; am I right in thinking that the only way to map an aux switch to a hot switch is globally, in the system menu? IE, I would need to have them like that across all patches?

Not necessarily. The only functions that can be mapped globally are the ones found on this list: https://cdn.eventideaudio.com/manuals/h90/1.8.6/content/appendix/global.html; they correspond to Global-Pedal Control and MIDI-Global Control functions. Some other Perform Mode options can only be mapped on a Program basis, like the looper functions you asked about previously.

OK! Still wrapping my head around it. Appreciate your quick responses.
