Hey! Is that possible to send control change MIDI message from an internal parameter mapped to a control change number? My external gear don’t receive any MIDI message after I made all setup in the H90. H90 MIDI Out > external gear MIDI In.
I am able to assign a #cc to a quick knob (Press and hold the Quick Knob).
H90 MIDI setting:
-Channel 8
-Receive Omni: OFF
-Output Mode: Transmit
-H90 / OS 1.2.2.46
-Clock Source: DIN
All gears and cables work fine.
-I can send tempo from the H90 (master) to external MIDI gear (slave).
-I can send MIDI notes and control changes from an external keyboard to the H90 over MIDI thru and the MIDI gear connected to H90 MIDI out can receive all MIDI messages.
-When I control remotely the parameter from an external MIDI control surface (after that I assign a #cc to a quick knob), I can see the parameter value moving on the H90 screen. I can record the automation and replay it. The parameter value change on the H90 screen as expected.
Somethig else I tried: In MIDI – Global Ctl, I tried to assign the Quick knob 1 to a #cc without success. Maybe I should update the software but I wanted to test everything I need before to update to the last one. Especially because the last OS version is a public beta. I don’t necessarily want to control an external machine with the H90 knobs but rather record the movement of the H90 knobs in MIDI.

Hello Akum432,
Hey! Is that possible to send control change MIDI message from an internal parameter mapped to a control change number?
This is not possible because mappings made in MIDI Global control are only responding to external controllers, not sending information from the H90.
I am able to assign a #cc to a quick knob (Press and hold the Quick Knob). H90 MIDI setting: -Channel 8 -Receive Omni: OFF -Output Mode: Transmit -H90 / OS 1.2.2.46 -Clock Source: DIN
When MIDI Output mode is set to “Transmit,” the H90 only transmits CC messages from aux switches or expression pedals connected to the EXP inputs, not any of the onboard knobs. In other words, it’s only possible to record MIDI CC using an external controller rather than the H90’s quick knobs.
Something else I tried: In MIDI – Global Ctl, I tried to assign the Quick knob 1 to a #cc without success. I don’t necessarily want to control an external machine with the H90 knobs but rather record the movement of the H90 knobs in MIDI.
Again, the H90’s knobs do not send MIDI data in this manner. The programming in MIDI Global Control is simply for assigning external controllers, not transmitting from onboard knobs.

Thanks for your answer! Is it:
-a hardware limitation
-an arbitrary decision
-or a feature that has no value for users or priority from eventide to be implemented at this stage, or simply something that hasn’t been considered yet?
If this is the last option, maybe I shoud add it to the Wish list from users topic? I will be very happy to record MIDI automations directly from H90 knobs to my hardware sequencer.
With the H9, the use of an external MIDI controller was more relevant. With the new screen and workflow on the H90 I feel much less need to use an external MIDI controller. It’s pretty much the only point that forces me to use an external controller (record MIDI automations from cc) in my setup and it would be nice to get rid of it since the H90 have a MIDI output and it’s possible to assign MIDI cc to H90 knobs.
Cheers
