I had an issue last night while using the new firmware (which is basically awesome, thanks Eventide team – best solstice present ever).
I’ve had it installed for 3 weeks now, and it has been absolutely perfect, and has already done 2 gigs like an absolute freaking legend. But last night it froze on startup. The only odd thing I did that could be related is that I inserted the USB cable while it was starting up. Possibly there was a low level timing/sync issue with that.
I got into recovery mode, but windows reported the mounted pedals drive as containing errors, and the app failed to reload the firmware, with the “couldn’t backup” error. I then tried loading manually, and this also failed with a windows report of a corrupted directory (sorry I was too panicked to take notes). I then … formatted the drive in windows, which felt like desperation and slightly wrong, but this actually worked, and the H90 control app managed to reload 1.12.5 with no issues. And the H90 came back up with all the presets that I’ve made in the last 3 weeks intact. I can imagine that formatting the drive would not be recommended to the average user, but I haven’t seen that mentioned anywhere so I thought I’d put the (possibly awful) idea out there.
TLDR, everything is now ok, but maybe you should check some low level device stuff when you get a chance.
