        Hi,

maybe this is an easy one but don’t want to screw up so I want to be sure.

I have my h90 in my pedalboard chain and currently using it in front of the amp with other effects but I want to have the possibility to use my h90 in the effects loop of my amp for situations where I take my amps (both have fx loop) without taking it out of the chain and want to use it in front of other amp (as it is now) fin case I get non fx loop amps as backline in gigs.

to summarize it will be: changing the h90 use from fx loop to non loop amps with making any disconnection and change of placement of the current set up in my chain, just want to know how to do this with a set up adjustment.

        Thanks in advance,

        best,

          Hello,

How do you have the H90 connected currently? Are you just using inputs/outputs 1 or 1-2 without using any insert routings?

If that is the case, you can use Dual Mode and connect inputs/outputs 3-4 to your amp’s FX loop. You can then use the Routing menu to decide whether each Preset is on Path 1 (before the preamp) or Path 2 (in the FX Loop).

If you place both of the Presets on Path 1, that will effectively be the same as how you are using the H90 already without an FX Loop.

Below are some relevant chapters from the user manual that should be helpful:

Let me know if you have any questions.

I have my input 1 coming from drives output 1 to analog delay and then to buffer/boost pedal. Basically everything in front of the amp. The question would be:

I want to have the possibility to send just my h90 to effects loop while preserving the signal path without changing connections. That would be the set up with my fx loop amp. Just bypassing h90 in the pedalboard while it goes to loop. Of course I would use a couple of cables to go to the loop but pedalboard stays the same. Not that interested in sending program A to the front and program B to loop (pre post setup). Also when I run to an amp without fx loop just to set it up as I have now.

is that possible? What would be the parameters used for that quick change?

Alright just read the second link. So correct me if I’m wrong:

I would need to use dual routing path 1 in series or parallel for what I’m attempting to do?

Also would I need to use set the pedal in “line” for this?

Yes, you would need to use Dual Routing for this.

Yes, you should set Inputs/Outputs 3/4 to line level if they are in your amp’s FX Loop. Inputs/Outputs 1-2 should remain at instrument level.

If you put both of the Presets on Path 2, then all of the H90 FX will be in the FX Loop, and Path 1 will act as a Thru path. You can have Path 2 be in Series or Parallel, see below:

Once you have all this connected, you just need to go to the Routing menu to adjust wether the presets are on Path 1 or Path 2.

Also please note that when you switch from Insert Mode to Dual Mode you will not see the same Programs you have created since they have different routing. The easiest way to handle this is to export your Program list in H90 Control, change the routing mode, and the reimport the list once you are in Dual Mode. You will be prompted to convert the list to Dual Routing on import and then you can use your same Programs in Dual Mode.

Got for most of it! One question for the last part tough:

Can i have two users with different routings? I don’t know if I understand the last part a100%

When you switch the pedal from Insert Routing to Dual Routing, that changes what Programs are available on the pedal since they have different routing structures.

All you need to do is export whatever Lists you are currently using, change to Dual Mode, and import those Lists, and you can then use whatever Programs you have created already using Insert Routing.

Oh I get it, so a couple of questions with this:

if i switch from dual to insert and back again will I need to do this always?
                        or

as I said before: Can I have one user dedicated with programs ready for insert and one user for all my programs ready for dual?

Any Programs you create in Insert Mode will need to be exported and reimported to be used in Dual Mode, and vice versa. If you don’t use inserts, you can just keep the pedal in Dual Mode.

No, the available lists changes when the pedal is changed from Insert to Dual Mode.

Ok, did everything. But got no sound. Just a veeery weak low volume sound.

                              – changed to dual mode.

                              – exported and reimported list.

                              – set in out 1/2 to instrument level and in out 3 to line.

                              – tried path 2 parallel and also pre-post.

                              No results.

At the end did everything again and just connected all the the h90 connected to the loop. A guitar direct to the amp using 1/2 in out and still no sound. So maybe I’m missing something. Since this is a new issue should a make a new thread?
