H90 Stereo in (1/2) Dual Stereo out (1/2, 3/4) question

Howdy!

Is there any way of setting up the routing on H90 so that I can process a single stereo pair of inputs and have Algorithm A feed outputs 1/2 and Algorithm B feed outputs 3/4? This seems like a very simple use-case, as I’d like to be able to have independent stereo return tracks on two separate faders in my DAW so that I can adjust the balance of the two algorithms in any given program at a later time after I’ve recorded. I only use H90 for single-source stereo stuff like synths, amp sims, etc. and will only ever feed inputs 1/2. The routing possibilities provided for more advanced/esoteric stuff like mono/stereo insert loops and 4 cable method make me feel like I’m missing something here with not being able to figure this out. I’d really like to avoid using a splitter to feed an identical signal to inputs 3/4 if possible, as that seems incredibly redundant for a pedal that is so flexible internally with the way signals/IO can be routed.

Another scenario here that would be helpful with stereo in, dual stereo output routing would be to feed your stereo source into inputs 1/2 and have outputs 1/2 be a pass-through of your dry signal with outputs 3/4 being the output signal of a program. There would need to be delay compensation on the dry outputs of 1/2 of course, as to not introduce any phase issues seeing as there are often programs/algorithms-within-programs that are not 100% wet, and the dry signal within the “effected” path would be out of phase with the pass through on outputs 1/2 due to latency introduced by the processing of the effects.

You could do the first configuration in insert mode with the effects in parallel and a stereo insert positioned after whichever effect you want on outputs 3/4.  The second configuration could be done similarly (there are latency and polarity compensation options built in as well).

The trick with insert mode is that you don’t need to have any return signals, so you can build in a lot of flexibility with split IO configurations.
