I recently switched to a stereo rig, and of all my pedals presets the H90 has experienced the most changes- most of them desirable.
However there are algorithms I <span style=”font-size: inherit;”>think would sound better mono, and/or that I think have too dramatic a stereo effect, but that don’t have any stereo parameters. Many of the delay and modulation algorithms have functions that change depending on weather or not the signal received is stereo or mono.</span>
An example of an algorithm that has dramatic changes in stereo, but no apparent stereo parameters is the Harpeggiator. A stereo signal causes a huge change, with totally different stuff happening in each ear. It would be nice to tone down the stereo field or disable it completely – so my question is twofold.
1. Is there a way to make a given preset (while receiving a stereo signal) mono?
2. Are their certain presets that do change in stereo, but are ‘fully unadjustable’ in terms of how they behave in stereo?

You may know this and it isn’t a per preset function but …
H90 Release 1.8.5

Force Mono
Override jack-detection and output mono even when wired for stereo
Useful for patchbay setups or switching between mono & stereo rigs
Preserves stereo information as long as possible through H90 effects and inserts for all routing configurations

Some of the newer algorithms (Polyphony, PolySynth, Head Space, etc) have panning controls, but many of the older algorithms have fixed stereo images. We may add the option to change this behavior in a future update.
One suggestion you could try is using the pedal in Dual Mode and having Path 1 in mono by only connecting I/O 1 and Path 2 output in stereo to the rest of your stereo rig. You can use some effects in mono this way.

This question created a brainworm for me. Specifically using the HarPeggiator example, but any solid solution should apply across the board. Everything from the exotic (short jumpers in otherwise unused Inserts) to much simpler tactics. I often use plugins ITB to gradually collapse stereo to mono by degrees.
Away from my desk, but my thought for the H90 is to follow the stereo Preset (A) in Series with an algorithm in Preset (B) that features a Width control. (Occasionally it’s called Spread, but we have two distinct types of ‘Spread’). Maybe TremoloPan, or UltraTap at minimal delay times … stuff like that. I’ll know more after I actually try a few things out.
