H90 with Helix floor routing question

<p style=”text-align: left;”>I am using the H90 in my Line 6 Helix floor loop, also using a Tonex pedal in the loop and a Whammydt in the guitar input in front of the chain, would there be an advantage to set the H90 in Dual mode instead of the default insert mode ? Right I use 2 out/2 in on the H90, any tips/advice you giys could share ? 🤘😁🤘</p>

The advantage of Dual mode is that the H90 behaves like two independent effects processors; we’ll call them Path 1 (I/O 1&2) and Path 2 (I/O 3&4). You would be able to position each path anywhere in your signal flow. For example, use Path 1 to into the Helix and Path 2 somewhere in the FX loop. At any given time, both Eventide algorithms can be on Path1 or both on Path 2. You can also have one on each path. Be mindful, that dual mode, however, does not allow the use of inserts.

I am kinda lost here, right now i am using (I/O 1&1) and (I/O 2&2) in default insert mode , so why I need to change it to Path 1 (I/O 1&2) and Path 2 (I/O 3&4) ?

In stereo, Insert Mode’s signal path flows from inputs 1&2 to Output 1&2. I/O 3&4 can be used for two mono insert points or one stereo insert. If you’re using the H90 in mono, you should only use I/O 1.

When the H90 is in Dual mode, there are two signal paths; you can see them when you enter the Routing menu. The top signal flow is I/O 1&2 in stereo or I/O 1 in mono. The bottom signal flow is I/O 3&4 in stereo or I/O 3 in mono.

So if i understand correctly if I would want to be full stereo un dual mode I would need 8 cables

If you want to take advantage of both paths on the same signal flow, yes.

Yeah I did watch the tutorial, so in dual mode 4 cable methid will be mono right ?

Each Path in Dual mode can be mono or stereo depending on which outputs are connected. For example, if you connect a cable to Outs 1&2, Path 1 will function in stereo. If you only connect Out 1, it will function in mono. The same with Path 2 using 3&4.

That is why it sounded like crap when I changed the setting tu Dual modem, I didn’t know I had to redo my cable setup 😂
