Hi.
I think ‘Match EQ’ in the Equvocate will be so useful with me, but don`t know how to get it work with cubase 8.5.
The plugin information says it`s ‘vst 2.4’, and I see Cubase provides sidechain function with the ‘vst 3.0’ above.
I tried to make it work using group channel track and other things, but still in maze.
Could I get any hints?
Thanks.

Hi D Honey,
Are you not having success with the group bus method? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HzbeYuzmwI0
Have you tried aligning the tracks such that they're playing at the same time?

Hi Dan.
I already know how the sidechain works, but what I confused with is that the Equivocate Plugin doesn`t have built-in SC button inside.
So although if I make the group bus and send it correctly, the tracks only just plays at the same time.
I just don`t know how could make it be done…

I too want this function. There seems to be no option to side-chain this plug-in using Nuendo/Cubase that I can find.
I read the reply and followed the link to the Cubase video on sidechaining. Thanks very much for the reply but it does not address the issue. To side-chain in Cubase and Nuendo the plug-in must have a side-chain “button” available on the plug-in gui. There is no such “button” on this plug-in available in Nuendo and most likely Cubase either as they share the same engine.
Any input would be very appreciated.

Sorry guys, I posted the wrong video above. This is how to do it with a VST2.4 plug-in. It's a little more confusing, you have to use a quadro bus. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KI1s6HnTccM
I will look and see if it's possible to do a VST3, but it won't be immediately.

Hi there,
EQ sounds nice and I like the gui but unfortunately eq matching is not working in Cubase 8.5 (because of vst3) and the suggested “trick” by using a quadro channel doesn’t work either for me… the plugin seems not to get input from the “back” channels… it’s a pity…
But thanks anyway for the great plugin… appreciate it… perhaps a vst3 version is coming in the future!

In Cubase 7.5 it seems to work… Devices/VST connections/Add FX/quadro configuration/add child bus to FX-“stereo”/add child bus to FX-“stereo (Ls Rs)”. Insert EQuivocate on the FX bus and there we have the two inputs, “stereo”, and “stereo (Ls Rs)” as sidechain. But I’m new to the process, so might be wrong…

I got it to work in Cubase 9. and it onlty took me an hour or two.
-
I created 3 quatro (not stereo) groups
- 1 for the main signal to be processed.
- 1 for the sidechain
-
1 for EQuivocate
- On the inserts on the first two groups I added Steinbergs MixConvert.
- In MixConvert I routed the main signal group to stereo (should have worked without this, but it didn’t – which is partly why it took so long).
- I routed the output to No Bus.
- In the sidechain group I routed MixConvert to Stereo (Ls Rs).
- I routed the output to No Bus.
- in the EQuivocate group I inserted EQuivocate.
-
I routed the output to Stereo.
- Then I used send from the channels I needed to process to the first group.
- I routed the output to No Bus.
- And then I sent the channels for sidechange to the second group.
- I routed their output to Stereo.
- Then I could open EQuivocate in the last group and match the signals.
I hope the sidechain button comes soon, because this was a pain in the… yes you know 😉

Hi Guys,
Since this is super complicated I spent the weekend on a VST3 version, which seems to work. It's version 1.0.2, and it should be available on the Eventide website tomorrow.

Hey Dan,
Sorry to be a bother, you are helping so much but the windows zipfile for 1.0.2 is empty? Or am I missing something?
