I really want an H90 to be a part of my pedal board…..however….. it seems there is no EASY or CLEAR power brick supply that can EASILY support the H90?

I saw some forum posts. It looks like it takes a PhD in electricity and $500 worth of power supplies and cables to make it work.

PLEASE – don’t tell me it comes with a power supply; if I want to make the H90 as part of my pedal board, which means I have to power it with a power brick (this is a MUST). I am not using the adapter that comes with it.

Is there REALLY a specific (SINGULAR) power brick that I can use that genuinely supports the 800mA requirements and center positive cabling??

These are great options that will power the H90 using one outlet running at 12V:

The definitive source just replied above.  This thread fleshes these units out, along with some other options.  I like to keep current doubling cables, polarity flippers, and connection adapters as last resorts.

Around a month back, I bought a CIOKS DC7 to power multiple H90s + other effects on my expanding main ‘board.  The previous PowerFactor 2 was fine for multiple H9s.  Getting long in the tooth for more current digital effects, so it’s been relegated to another placement.

As I recall, it came with one green Flex cable, compatible with the H90.  But I did have a few more lying around from the previous P/S, and they remain fairly cheap.  Prices are climbing everywhere, but the good folks at Gear Hero price-matched this purchase.

Compared to the PowerFactor 2, the DC7 is as light as a feather.  Amazing, considering the size reduction, expandability, available power, isolation, & output configurations.  More than once, I’ve found uses for that USB outlet.

No affiliation, just a suggestion for a solid, capable option that’ll grow with your ‘board.  Who still warranties their products for 5 years?

I’m using a Voodoo Lab Mondo power brick and it works great. I don’t know why others wouldn’t work, but of course make sure to use a positive-tip cable from brick to H90, just like the H9.

Thumps up for the Ciocs DC7.

@VmusucV, What are you talking about?  I use the Eventide Powermax to power TWO H90s (I could probably power a third) and other pedals… what’s not easy about it?  Plug it in, turn it on.

Cioks DC-7 with the Crux add on for the H90, here. Works a treat.

Mono large power brick each output is 500ma and some are switchable voltage.
cheaper than some of the other options but the build quality is pretty flimsy.

I have a voodoo labs current doubler and center positive adapter cables.

Haven’t tried without the current doubler just using a single 12v 500ma but didn’t seem worth rolling the dice given it’s working great.

What about the Palmer PWT 12 MK2? I got it and I haven’t tested yet because I thought it won’t work (it provides 500mA at max).

The manual is not clear on whether it provides 500 mA at all voltage ratings. It’s more often the case that as the voltage rises the power goes down. It might be worth emailing their customer support to get clarity. For example, 500 mA at 9 V is not enough to power the H90. You would need to couple two 500 mA outlets. If the outputs are switched to 12 V, the question is does the outlet still give you 500 mA or is it less?500 mA might be enough if the Palmer allows momentary surges beyond 500 mA as other power supplies on the market allow like the Eventide PowerMax. At startup, the H90 spikes close to 600 mA, but the nominal rating is < 500 mA. If the Palmer can provide 500 mA at 12 V and it can handle a temporary surge, it will work.

                                That’s an amazing response. Thanks!

I’ve used both the Eventide / Cioks PowerMax and PowerMini in the US and EU without any complaints or issue. Depending on your other pedals’ needs, the PowerMini might suffice. It’s (relatively) tiny and light.
