      Is there a way to get the tempo to start when I hit a button? As in the effect with tremolo is already selected (but bypassed via a Boss es-8), but on the first beat of the Chorus, have the tremolo/tempo restart on the 1?

      You can send a MIDI CC mapped to Tap Tempo to your H9 right after the program change. The tremolo modulation will be retriggered.
