MixingLink as mute switch

I am assuming this is possible but want to check understanding before purchasing:

 

Phantom Powered condenser plugged into Mic in

 

If I use the MixingLink in A/B switching mode, with nothing plugged into FX send jack and switch set to FX only, will this have the effect of muting the mic signal on the Line/DI OUT when the foot switch is used?

 

I currently have a separate mic mute switch but would do away with it if I can do it on the one box.

Yes. If you set the MIX switch to "FX ONLY", you will only hear the signal coming from the "FROM FX" input
