Hello all… for my live rig, I would like to connect a three button aux switch to my modfactor and then operate as so… leave the modfactor in play mode (b1=active, b2=brake, b3=tap) and use the aux switch for (b1=bank up, b2=bank down, b3=patch select toggle within the bank). Anybody try this with success or is it simply not possible?
Thanks!

Well, you had me until aux3=patch select toggle… Do you mean toggling between preset:A and preset:B? If so, I'm not sure that's possible, but I'm not in front of my pedalboard at the moment, so I'll have to do some checking and get back to you.
Obviously, how your switches work for you is more important, but I thought I'd include my solution with the hope that it might give you some other ideas that may lead to something that would work even better for you. Anyway… (P1 = 1st pedal switch; A1 = 1st aux switch, etc., etc.)
I leave my MF in Bank Mode, so the switches on the pedal are P1=preset:A toggle; P2=preset:B toggle; P3=BankUp. Then I've got my aux switch set to A1=BankDown; A2=brake; A3=tap. Even if the switches are in the same location, this setup would give you all the functions you've listed.
From your description, if we could change pedal b1 from your example to pedal b1=preset:A toggle, then change aux b3 to aux b3=preset:B toggle, that would give you want you'e looking for, too. The problem is, I don't think you can reassign the functions of the switches on the pedal, only the functions assigned to the aux pedals. As before, since I'm not with my pedalboard now, I'll have to verify that, but I think this is the way it is.
I'll let you know what I find out…

Thanks for the quick reply! I have a feeling that you are correct about being unable to remap the MF switch functions. And yes, I am probably overthinking things, but I just don't understand having the bank up and bank down switches on different units. I can adapt 🙂
If you do figure it out let me know, it sure would be great to have six fully assignable switches for this thing with three in front and three in back on my pedaltrain.
Thanks again!

Well, what I do is place the aux switch below the Factor on my pedalboard. Then, Bank+ (on the pedal) is directly above the 3rd aux switch, which I set to Bank-. They may be on different boxes, but having them one above the other helps me keep their functions straight.
And yeah, unless I'm missing something (nowhere close to the first time I've done *that*)… I can't find any way of reprogramming the functions of the Factor's switch, other than switching between Bank and Play modes. I agree, though, that it would be really nice to do that, but I've also heard that it would likely cause additional confusion among the users.
My vote stands for being able to change the functions assigned to the switches on the Factors, too, and not just the aux switches. As discussed previously in other threads, I think it would be nice if all Factors worked the same way, too. (Space has 1) active/bypass; 2) preset+; 3) preset-, instead of the PF, TF, MF having 1) preset x:1; 2) preset x:2; 3) Bank+.) I can see benefits of both paradigms, so I really don't care which, but it would be nice if all 4 Factors worked the same.
Sorry… that was apparently my rant for the week. 😉 I'm much better now…
In all seriousness, please do let us know what your eventual solution is. There are a lot of great people on this board, including several Eventide people who are very helpful, who I'm sure can give you several more ideas!
