Need help to sync H90 with tap tempo of the mc6 pro midi controller

Hi! I would like sync strymon timeline and eventide H90 pedals using tap tempo of the mc6 pro midi controller. Both pedals are connected via 5pin midi with the controller. The preset changes work fine via midi on the H90. Therefore the midi connection works. However, it does not sync via tap tempo. I read that somehow I have to create a CC number as one is given for the timeline. How do I do this or what to do? Thanks for your help!

From your description, it sounds like you’re using the MC6 Pro as a MIDI Clock master for the two other effects, and both of them are set to MIDI THRU (as they’re changing Programs).

You can go the CC route for Tap Tempo in the H90.  But since MIDI Clock is sent across all MIDI Channels, it’s easier to sync everything to a single tempo source.  Here are a few options to confirm:

Next check the the H90 Programs used are in Tempo Sync.  I’m not in front of my rig right now, but I would try using MIDI Clock Tap programmed to one of the MC6 Pro’s switches.  If everything has been routed correctly, that should sync it all up.

Thank you! Following your steps it works with Midi Clock Tap. However, I would have liked to use CC messages as I could with the Strymon timeline.
