no com ports in vsig

hello,

anyone had this problem before?

i installed a USB – Serial cable on my desktop WinXP SP3 all working fine with my Orville & Eclipse. so i know the cable works.

installed it on my laptop WinXP SP3. when i run Vsig it can't see any com ports at all?

just a blank flip menu? 

In windows device manager I can see both com1 & com2 (com2 is my USB to Serial)

Sorry – it is not possible for us to diagnose computer problems.

Presumably for some reason your USB-serials are not visible to Vsig, but it is hard to know why this might be.

You could try a different manufacturer – we tend to use Keyspan. Best not to use no-name generic stuff.

I had the same problem with the Beta version. Installing version 2.0 solved it.
