H3000 ultra harmonizer LCD screen missing characters/restting OS

I have tried to reset the OS according to the published metohd on this website. The first step to reset the presets works, but then the next screen should ask about resetting the OS, and instead the screen goes to the diantonic shift program, not allowing me to reset the OS.

there are some missing characters on the LCD display and I am hoping that an OS reset may solve that issue, I am awaiting a DS1225Y replacement, as that may be the issue. Any insights
