Hi all,
I’m wondering if there’s anything anyone has found find on the H9 (Max) that would mimic an old Boss effect called “Slow Gear.” It’s a really simple effect.. basically it takes off the attack of incoming notes and they swell in like a volume pedal swell. One interesting thing though is that once the effect is “open” and audio is coming through, it stays open and other notes sound with normal attacks. Getting the effect to “close” just means not playing for an instant. So in essence it’s almost like a noise gate. When there is no signal, it resets itself so that the next sound has a slow attack. I guess another way to describe it might be to say it’s like an auto-volume pedal with dynamic response?
If you’d like to check out a sample of what I do with Boss units, take a look at this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WaiaWz68muI
Fast Forward to about 1:08. The lead lines there are both Chapman Stick running first through a Boss SE-70 then an Eclipse. The distortion and slow gear are from the SE-70, and the reverb from the Eclipse. You can probably hear though that some notes have slower attacks than others. I’m hoping to use a few H9s to replace the SE-70’s in my live Stick rig.
Any thoughts on what algorithms I should be looking at in the H9?
Thanks!

I use this one with digital distortion, for slower attacks with smooth releases:
Here’s one way to ‘cheat’, with (optional) reverb and modulation:
Another delayed attack variation combining multiple effects:

Do you have the H9 or tide files for these? I tried TREMELOPAN but there’s no SENSITIVITY parameter.

It’ll take some digging. I posted these more than a year ago.

Duh. of course it does! My bad!
