Seem to be Bypassing my Preamp Entirely

I don’t think this is an issue but something I’m missing in the setup of the H90 in the stereo fx loop of my Soldano X88IR.  I can do a non stereo connection and I can switch between the preamps three channels, but when I do what I believe is the stereo connection noted below, I seem to bypass the preamp entirely and am going dry straight into the H90 and hearing the effects great but no preamp.

Signal Flow:

• Input 1 – Instrument/Guitar
• Input 3 – Line/FX Send from Soldano
• Output 3 & 4 – Line/FX Return to Soldano
• Output 4 – Instrument/Guitar Input Soldano

I have the H90 set for Dual Routing – I can hear the dry guitar come through on bypass and with effects but can’t get any of the three channels to come through it’s as if the channel switching is now ineffective.  I did try the bypass for all modes AB Only, DSP, and Relay and same result for any of them.

The output of the Soldano is using the XLR outputs 1/2 to an Audient ID14 the outputs to that to my speakers.

What am I missing?

You need to use output 1 to the instrument input of the Soldano, not output 4.

in dual mode the path A is input 1/2 to output 1/2, and path B is input 3/4 to output 3/4.

In this setup, path A will be preamp in mono and path B will post in stereo and you can route one or both presets to either path in series or parallel.

I misstated that I am using output 4 because output 1/2 is being used to the effects return.  But I think I understand better with what you said – keep path A mono and path B stereo.  Will flip this around, thanks!

I think you need to use insert mode in this setup.
<p style=”text-align: left;”>To use dual mode, go from the guitar to H90 In 1, then out 1 to the Soldano main in. Then go H90 3/4 in and outside into the Soldano stereo loops.  Then you’ll have effects before and after the preamp!</p>
