      Hi,

After a few days of messing around with the Space and the Disaster Area Designs DMC-6D I can almost control the Space to its 100%, there are some things that I can't able to manage (but I can live with, or without, these).

But, what I really want to solve is the ability to bypass a preset with the same switch I've used for activate it.

      My MIDI settings:

      RCV CHANNEL – 3 (DMC's manual suggests 4)
      RCV CTL – Pedal C42
      HOT FS – C64
      RCV MAP – 3 BYP (DMC's manual suggests 1)
      CTL XMT – OFF
      PGM XMT – OFF
      OUTPUT – THRU
      MIDICLK IN – OFF
      MEDICK OUT – OFF
      CLK FILTER – OFF

If I set the RCV CHANNEL to 4 and the RCV MAP – 0 BYP, it does bypass and activate the presets with the same switch!
But this way, I can't scroll up/down the presets (in DMC's preset mode) and save them to the bank location I want. The presets are sorted according to DMC's switches, so…

      1 A = Hall
      1 B = Room
      1 C = Plate
      1 D = Spring
      2 A = DualVerb
      2 B = Reverse

      and so on…

What I've been doing to bypass the presets, is to assign my "bypass" preset (3 BYP) to one of the DMC's external switch, and that acts like a "master bypass", but that's not something I'd like to keep doing.

I've tried with different MIDI settings, Space modes, switches here, switches there, but still nothing.

      I would appreciate any help!

      Thanks.

I am just briefing over what you wrote. I am just wondering if you are
sending out to different values… so first click 0, second click 127.

      st.bede, thanks for replying!

I'm not sure what you mean with "sending out to different values" though.

Like sending CC0 to activate the preset and CC127 to deactivate it?

      Thanks.

no… sorry I should of typed "sending out two different midi values"… so say CC64 sends value 0 when pressed and then value 127 when pressed again.

      st.bede, thanks again for replying!

      Unfortunately, I can't tell you if CC64 it's sending 2 different values.

Is it necessary that the CC sends 2 different values? I'm guessing 1 value for turning the preset on and 1 value for turning off.

Also, the DMC-6D controller I'm using works fine with a Strymon Timeline.

      Thanks!

These things are never simple, because there are no standards. Some things will work with one thing, others with another.

We tend to go for the CC above and below 64, because we think it will work with most things. Does not mean it will work with everything. Sorry.

      Got it.

Is there a MIDI controller that you guys recommend to pair with your Stompboxes?

      Thanks.

      Just for the record.

Drew Smith at Disaster Area Designs was very helpful and he gave the solution to my problem.

I was surprised that the answer was actually a Space-related issue rather than in the MIDI controller.

I will quote what he said to me:

You will need to enter the System Menu on your Space.

Then, navigate to "MIDI".  From there, to "RCV.CTL".

Then, navigate to "ACT"(activate) and press the right button.

Next, you can load any preset and press the right button on your Space to "LEARN".

Pressing the preset button again to learn bypass.

You should see C.102 on your display and bypass will be learned.

Exit the MIDI menu and it should work.

      And indeed, it worked!

Now I'm just suffering of the ~2 seconds of lag when changing presets with MIDI.

      Thanks to everyone!
