      I know that when I change a knob's Hotswitch setting to match its default setting, the knob is suppose to be unassigned. On the display, is the circle suppose to turn into a dash? Because mine remains a circle even after the value is matched…unless I'm somehow doing it wrong. I just have to hold down the Hotswitch and turn the knob until it matches, right?

      If you set a hotswitch value to its original setting, it will have no effect, but will still be assigned. You can clear all hotswitch settings for a preset as described on UM p.28.
