Hello just got the split EQ and I’m really enjoying it. However I’m having a weird UI issue that’s doing my head in.
Sometimes when I load up an instance of Split EQ it has all its bands set as Low shelves and it doesn’t let me pick the ‘peak’ setting. The only way i can select the peak shape is by selecting the ’tilt shelf’ which results in the band turning into a peak.
This workaround would be tolerable if it wasn’t for the fact that when I reopen a project all my bands turn into low shelves again.
I noticed that it mostly occurs when I use Split EQ in AU format, the VST version seems to be more stable. Also it occurs intermittently and gets you by surprise, so heads up – the AU version in REAPER seems to be problematic. Great plugin though!
Using the latest version of REAPER on macOS Mojave 10.14.6

Here’s a screenshot of this happening

And here it is when I load up a previous project and all my ‘peaks’ turned into low shelves

Hi Jurgis, sorry to hear about that, that sounds frustrating. So far we’ve been unable to reproduce this with the latest version of Reaper, but it might be helpful to have some more information about your system.
The next time this issue happens, could you right-click the Eventide logo, and then choose “Copy Support Information to Clipboard”, then paste it into a reply? That should give us a better sense of what’s happening. (It sounds like there’s some issue with the internal state)

Thanks, Jurgis! I can see in the data that the filter types are being set to low shelf, so it’s something to do with internal state.
Is the above from reloading a session or adding a new instance of SplitEQ?
-
November 23, 2021 at 10:40 am #160794JurgisParticipant
This specific one is from loading a new instance of SplitEQ. It happens intermittently, sometimes it loads up fine, sometimes like this.
And you know, I’ve noticed something when looking through this support data. It takes note of the language settings used on the mac, specifically
“UserRegion”: “LT”,
“DisplayLanguage”: “en-LT”I often need to flick between two different language settings while using the computer, and I wonder whether this might be affecting the plugin? That the keyboard and input state being different from the standard ISO/IEC 9995 might be causing some oddities? I will do a few tests and report back.
-
November 23, 2021 at 7:37 pm #160835
Thanks Jurgis.
It would be surprising if the language had anything to do with it, but if you don’t mind checking, or can find any other steps to reproduce, we’d appreciate it. We still haven’t had luck reproducing here.

1: got a black screen plugin window when inserted on my master fader while running a first instance on another track
2: delay compensation is not right in Protools

Sorry to hear about the issues.
Re: Black screen
- Does this occur if the other instance has the UI open, closed, or in both cases?
- Does this occur if you have “Use OpenGL” on, off, or in both cases? (You can toggle this in the Info dropdown in the top right of the plugin window)
Re: Latency
- What sample rate and buffer size are you using?
- What is the amount of latency that the plugin is reporting, vs. what you are observing?
