      Hey All,

Is there a way to have the wah effect turned on via an external switch.  I have a nice Wah preset but I would like to be able to turn it on and off via a switch on my control pedal (i.e. more like a traditional wah would operate).  Is there a way to do this?

      Cheers, Mike

Presumably you could wire up your switch as an AUX and use it to bypass the effect or control other parameters.

I do it using a Disaster Area controller.

It is otherwise difficult.. because where does the H9 go when you turn the effect OFF? But with a DMC- totally possible.

I wrote it up in detail here:

I am thinking the Mission Engineering SP-H9 should work.  Isn’t this what this pedal was designed for?

Yeah, that’s the one I use. I typoed it throughout as SP-9 instead of SP-H9 :/

      To All,

I’ve looked into the SP-9P and it looks like it should work.  I already own an SP-1 and would like to ‘convert’ it.  Any thoughts on how to do this?  I can’t find the wiring diagram for a SP-9P

Oh yeah you can totally convers the SP-1. You just need a momentary switch. That one is latching, i think.

What are you tryna do, though, exactly. Just have the toe-switch toggle bypass?

Yes, I want to toggle the wah on and off with the switch on the pedal.

      Great! Thats easy as pie.

Now.. there might be an EASIER way on the Mission PCB.. if you want to pop the bottom of that thing and show us whats inside it might be easier.

Otherwise.. here is the WOST CASE SCENARIO INSTRUCTIONS:

      1) pull the switch AND disconnect the POT from the PCB of the mission- put them away for storage.

      2) Buy these two things:

      a) A Normally OPEN momentary switch. This one will do. https://lovemyswitches.com/spst-momentary-foot-switch-normally-open-soft-touch/.. but if you want a tactile CLICK.. then maybe this one: https://lovemyswitches.com/spst-momentary-foot-switch-normally-open-vampire-fangs/

      b) A stereo (TRS) Jack- this one will do: https://lovemyswitches.com/1-4-stereo-jack-neutrik-rean-nys230/ You can do this with two mono jacks and an INSERT CABLE if you have them. But I would go TRS.

Then just wire the POT from the pedal to ….TIP and sleeve.. and the switch to RING and sleeve. (right guys?)

Again- you MIGHT be able to use the PCB from the mission.. and just wire the switch to the appropriate spots on the board.. but I am not sure without seeing it. The above way will DEFINATELY work, no matter what design the mission used.
