Has any one tried putting The Time Factor in the front end of a high gain amp?  I know that usually it sounds like crap but I was wondering if the Time Factor was any different.  I'm just looking for a subtle delay, and the amp i have doesn't have an effects loop.

      Hey there,

I don't think the TF will behave different than any other delay pedal. After all, what's causing the – let's call it special sound hehe – is the distortion. The delay repeats mix with the dry signal and get distorted together … more distortion = worse (could work with low gain, though). Same principle happens when you put a harmonizer in front of distortion. It sound like ass …

Best leave it in the loop if you have one. Otherwise, well, you're basically screwed when you want high gain and delay …
