Hello, just picked up an Eclipse and looks like it was never updated. I read the guide and some other forum messages online and getting a lot of mixed info. Trying to find a CF card and just wondering if I need to worry about anything there. Obviously the recommended cards in the manual are no longer in production and nobody is making anything less than 32GB, not sure why this would matter, but based on some of the other posts I have found people have issue with larger capacity cards.

So what is the move? Try to somehow find a new CF card with less than 1GB of storage? Use a new one? Use a used old one and wipe it?

        Thanks

I have read on another forum that you want to use the serial port. DO NOT! Use the card method as it’s less risky. You can find lower capacity (less than 2GB) San Disk cards on Ebay very easily.

Format the card on Eclipse. If it stores presets correctly it will also work for system updates

If you are upgrading from a version earlier than 3.51 then you must install 3.51 first
If you are upgrading from version 2.0 or earlier and experience keyboard freezes while upgrading, you may need to upgrade the bootloader..
