On the Vsig download site, the H8000 series database is an *.sbf
file.  Vsig does not seem to recognize this.
Vsig does recognize the H7600 database which is sigdbase.sbs

What do I need to do to load the H8000 database file while using
      Vsig standalone?

      thanks

Try to rename the .sbf extension into .sbs. Works ok here.
Alternatively you can download a database from the unit itself.

      thanks for the reply.

i changed the H8000 database file to .sbs, Vsig recognized it and also
      updated the

      Preferences/User setup to H8000 family.

      very cool!

      Anyway…

when you search for the database to load in Vsig, pay attention to the File Type field in the window opened by Vsig. It offers 3 choices:

Binary Files (*.sbs) > This won't obviously look for .sbf files
Text Files (*.sbf) > This WILL load an .sbf file!
All Files (*.) > will show every type of file in a directory.

It's just the way Windows and Vsig may look at different type of files.

      Tricky, but works!
