I'm new to using an Orville (upgraded from 7500). Since the manual states "DSP A has four inputs and four outputs, and DSP B has four inputs and four outputs", I was expecting to see 4 inputs in VSIG. I am only seeing 2 inputs and 2 outputs, similar to the 7500.

Should I expect to see these 4 ins / outs in VSIG?

This never made sense to me. If I have 2 analog ins that go to DSP A, why would it state that there are 4 ins and 4 outs, per DSP?

      Kindly,

      Jim

Orville's HEAD module has a variable number of inputs and outputs. This number defaults to 2 for back-compatibility.

Either edit the ninputs (noutputs) value, or use "Add Repeating Field" to change this number.

Thanks. I see. Then to clarify, anything that is set under Orville's:

      1) Programs>Routing

      2) Setup>DSP (A/B) i/p routing

      3) Setup>Outputs (Output Routing)

will be more of a hardwiring of the signal path? I assume this will not show up in VSIG? In VSIG I am really just viewing the DSP algo, and I guess it's independent of any routing options that were selected.

Correct – and only one of the two possibles. Vsig is essentially an algorithm designer.
