Was this card scrapped? Any chances of such a card being developed to allow 4 streams of AVB audio, ie: 32 channels? It would save me having to buy another audio interface.
My MOTU 828ES has:
2 banks of 8 channel ADAT. The H9000 only has 1 bank of ADAT.
I am using all the analog inputs for line level instruments 1-8 and both mic inputs on the front already.
The coaxial I/O is 2 channel only and is used by my TC Finalizer 96k
I don’t want to use the 16 channels of USB audio on the H9000. Using multiple USB/Thunderbolt ports on my Mac Studio M2 MAX as aggregate devices taxes my DSP% in MOTU Digital Performer 11.
That leaves just the AVB Network port which allows me up to 8 streams of 8 channel AVB audio, i.e. 64 channels of AVB.
I could go for the MADI card, but trying to find a MOTU 112D or M64 MADI/AVB interface is proving impossible.
Also interesting he mentions “16 algorithms per chip” I wonder if that means per ARM processor, since that would mean 16 algorithms on a single FX chain
I’m not familiar with aggregate devices being so resource intensive, an M2 Mac should have plenty of power for a simple aggregate device setup.
You can get a 1/4 patchbay and connect that to your audio interface to allow you to change your routing connections as needed. You can use the 8 channels of ADAT I/O simultaneously.
I’d suggest contacting MOTU or one of their dealers if you are unable to find the interface you’re looking for.
