  Hi all,
  
  I saw one at a local music shop and wondering if anyone has info on it since I can't really find any.. not even on this site
  
  Is it essentially an Orville? What's special about it? What does Andaman even mean?

  I saw Dr. Richard Zvonar perform with one in 2002 at Loopstock in San Luis Obispo, Ca. My understanding is that it was an Orville prototype or test/demo unit before the product name was ironed out.

  You are correct – it was a prototype for what became Orville. As I recall, it was pretty similar, but 48kHz only, with restricted routing. Needless to say, no support available.
  
  Andaman was an internal code name, based on an obscure island in the Indian Ocean.
