Is there any why to check if the backup memory (U34,BQ4013) is ok?
Is there any policy after how many years one should replace it?
My is stamp 9343.
what problems are you having with your DSP4000?
I do not have any problem yet.
I am doing an inventory of our outboards and other equipment that has backup memory.
In a AKG ADR68K from 1986 they have a Dallas DS1213 a similar type ofthe one in the DSP4000 and that on has no power left so we lost thepresets.
That is what I want to prevent.
you *should* backup your preset anyway; you have 2 ways to do this:
-use Vsig editor on a PC and store them to the hard disk (best)
-use a PCMCIA card (worst)
The battery is soldered to the circuit. If the unit works well, the battery id fine.
When you start having all sort of warning/error messges, and frequent checksum errors messages…then the battery is about to go.
