       Hi ,

Is there any why to check if the backup memory (U34,BQ4013) is ok?

Is there any policy after how many years one should replace it?

      My is stamp 9343.

      Hi,

I do not have any problem yet.

I am doing an inventory of our outboards and other equipment that has backup memory.

In a AKG ADR68K from 1986 they have a Dallas DS1213 a similar type of
the one in the DSP4000 and that on has no power left so we lost the
      presets.

That is what I want to prevent.

you *should* backup your preset anyway; you have 2 ways to do this:

-use Vsig editor on a PC and store them to the hard disk (best)

      -use a PCMCIA card (worst)

The battery is soldered to the circuit. If the unit works well, the battery id fine.

When you start having all sort of warning/error messges, and frequent checksum errors messages…then the battery is about to go.

      best
