I used to own a DSP7500 a decade ago. Naturally, I don't have £4k+ to spend. Those days are never gonna return. I've recently been watching tons of youtube demos, and am now trying to decide as to whether I go for a new Eventide stompbox every month or two, or just wait 4 months+ til I can afford an Eclipse.  What I want to know is whether the Eclipse has presets that make use of more than one "stompbox" or any fx not already found in any of the 4 stompboxes.  Thanks.

The Eclipse has many effects not found in the stompboxes. On the other hand, most of its stompbox effects are too big to run more than one.

I would guess that you should mainly consider whether you need the features of a rack-mount unit – these include more presets, more effect types, better audio quality, more interfaces (especially digital audio), etc, etc, and also, more expense ..

Having watched all the youtube demos I possibly can all over again, I've decided to go for a used Eclipse.

Trying to find a used one is proving very difficult.

Stick with it, took me a while to find on… But it was worth it.
