Can someone please explain the difference between FireWire1 and FireWire2?  Are these physical connections, or logical labels?  The manual states that FireWire2 is not used in most of the factory routings, which also has me wondering.  How many channels are available on each FireWire designation ("1" and "2"), and how do you keep track of inputs vs. outputs on the same FireWire 'connection' ("1" or "2")?

I have not played with FireWire much to this point, and I think this will be important to understand.

      Thanks.

The H8000FW can send 16 channels each way over firewire. These 16 are arranged as 2 groups of 8 for routing purposes, known as FireWire1 and 2.
