FW8000 Software not recognizing device

hello , i recently downloaded the Leopard software for the fw 8000 ,

im connected via firewire but when i open the Dice no sample rate gets recognized and my eventde is just flashing

 on set up is says firewire" unlocked "

also is it posible to use this as a software with protools 8HD as a plug in ?

This may mean many things. First, go through the process described in the H8000FW manual under "Installing Drivers on Your Macintosh" and "Configuring the H8000FW for Macintosh Output". Also try "Troubleshooting Mac systems." If you cannot make this work, email support@eventide.com.

For reasons beyond our control it is not possible to use the H8000FW as a plugin with Protools at this time – you have to set it up as a Core Audio device.
