hello everybody
hope you are well 🙂
I was hoping somebody could give me a bit of guidance in regards to 2 questions I have.
Right now i have AUX Sends 1 and 2 from my mixing desk into the Analog inputs 1 and 3 in the back of the H8000 and analog outputs 1 + 2 and 3 + 4 of the H8000 returning into my mixing desk. I have the Routing Setup in the H8000 to Analog Dual Stereo and all that is running smoothly. At the same time i have the optical ADAT In & Out Cables from my Prism Sound Orpheus connected to the H8000.I want to know, if it’s possible to use the ADAT to send stuff from my DAW into the H8000, at the same time i am using the Analog Sends from my desk? Can the analog and ADAT inputs be used at the same time in the H8000?Right now, using Analog Dual Stereo, i think this isn’t possible or i haven’t managed to work it out, as i cant get any return signal via ADAT in my DAW.If i switch the Routing to ADAT A II B or ADAT 8 Track, i can get return signal back into my DAWAny thoughts would be most welcome!Thank you -
June 13, 2018 at 2:02 am #149486Suggest you try the "H8000 Series Routing Utility"
This is available for Mac and Win and will hopefully answer your questions.

hi Nick
thanks for the quick reply, appreciated.
I have donwloaded the program and i am trying to set it up so it communicates with my PC. Right now i had little success with MIDI, so at the absence of my motherboard having a Serial RS232 Port i bought a USB to RS 232 adapter, but i am still having trouble configuring it, although i have followed all steps outlined in the manual of the Routing app and the settings / manual of the H8000.
Not sure if a USB to Serial cable would work, or do i need a serial to serial cable to make the connection happen?
What could it be that i am missing? As i couldnt not get the H8000 and my PC to speak to each either neither with MIDI or Serial Any thoughts would be most welcome
Thanks in advance
Al

I'm afraid it sound like you need some local computer help to get either USB-MIDI or USB-serial working. For obvious reasons we cannot remotely diagnose computer issues.
I've used the M-Audio USB-MIDI converters various times.
USB-serial tend to be more anonymous and trashy, plus you have baud rate and other configuration issues.
