Hi, I have a H8000 here which previously worked fine. There was a clock issue and it was returned to me. It now wont turn on at all and get stuck with the fault message “”Faulty presets code installed”. Does anyone have any pointers? Battery has been changed, no help.
Thanks!
Sam

Maybe reflashing firmware might help…. Or maybe just reimport factory presets?
But wait what Eventide will say. …

Eventide did suggest firmware but also to just send it to another company who will actually look at these in person anymore.

I am not sure, but it seems to me, that something simmilar has happened to me with H8000 or Eclipse and I did either firmware flash or just reimporting presets.
But those may be tricky. So, if you have doubts, it is better to ask qualified person to look at it.

I`ve exactly the same problem with my H8000FW, did you find a solution or a way to reimport the presets?
I first had an E12 error, then changed the battery and did a factory reset (holding down 8 during startup) with no success.
Then I performed the self test (holding down 5, test all) which may have been the main mistake and probably have erased the factory presets.
Then I removed and cleaned all socketed ICs, including U106 which showed reaction during wiggling (contacts were quite oxidized). I now know I should have done this first…
Finally I successfully installed firmware 5.61 but now got the message “faulty presets code installed, contact factory”.
Thanks!

Beamish can, but with us living in the UK its not a cheap cost to pay

Thanks sampemberton!
I´m in germany, so I was hoping for a more “remote” solution… So your H8000 still isn’t working, too?
Isn’t there a possibility to load the presets with the compact flash card or buy a pre-programmed eprom or would it be helpful to have someone with a working unit?
I think no one from eventide has read this thread so far, so maybe I should contact them directly…

I guess, you may reflash the firmware and load new presets. But those things may be tricky. If your does not work anyway, why not to try? Or find somebody experienced nearby who would do it. Not much to loose. If it fails you will have to send it get repaired. And if you do not try to fix it, you will have to send it get repaired.

It doesn’t boot to let me load anything. Iv tried to re-flash the firmware with multiple cards and it crashes at the same point every time. Most infuriating.

I think they are on Eventide web. Aren’t they?
