Odor coming from Eclipse

I just picked up a new Eclipse and after about an hour of operation I noticed an odor coming out of the vent on top that smells like something is getting hot.  It’s not a strong odor and I didn’t notice any smoke.  The unit appears to be functioning fine and I didn’t detect any hot spots on the case.  I suspect it’s a power component that normally runs hot that is just burning-in.  Should I pull the cover to inspect or is this to be expected?

Mysterious smells are not expected.

But, given that the unit should be under warranty, I suggest that you not worry unless you see other problems.

In the unlikely event that it were to get hot, you should send it in.
