       Hi,

After I press yes to run the update I get a message:

      Autoexec: bad file cmds.txt

      Press any key to continue

      Then: (E1) Can't Explain

I followed theupdate instructions and have done this 5 times with the same result.

       Can you help?

      Thanks,

      John

Sounds like a card problem. Try another card, preferably below 2GB and not previously used.

Thanks Nick – I've reformatted two cards – 256MB and 96MB – with the same results. They both had been previously used so maybe a new fresh card is necessary. I have many CF cards but all are used except a 4GB card.

Thanks again Nick – a new 2GB card worked.

The only thing that would work for me was to use a fresh, never used card. A 2GB card worked for me. Something smaller may also work.

It would be helpful if you would say which product this is and what update you are trying to install.

However, judging from the message,  it looks as though it is possibly a hardware problem. I would suggest that you retry the operation a few times, and if not successful, the unit should probably go for service.

I'm tried to instal V5.22 Software Update for H7600, 10 times.
